Fr Bill, I enjoied your homily, but since the last chapter of John is one of my FAV-or-ITE chapters of the Bible, I thought I'd put in my two cents. Notice the number of fish they catch. When I get more than 6 large fish, it's pretty heavy but 153 would be naturally unmovable by a single man. God must have endowed Peter with supernatural strength. St Jerome states that the number was the same as the entire catalog of known fish, therefore Peter would be the fisher of all men. The thrice love has a deeper meaning in Greek. I'd like to hear you compare the statements of Jesus to the response of Peter using the Greek words and their meaning. This such a Papal chapter that I derive much confidence in the Papacy every time I read it. (I've read it so many times I could probably recite it word for word, in the RSVCE translation.)I'll pray for God to continue to bless your work on behalf of the Kingdom of God.
